Happy Halloween!

These pics have nothing to do with the kids' costumes tonight, but it would be awesome if they did...

We had some fun in the costume aisle at Target.
2 things to note here...Laney can breathe although it appears her safety belt is cutting into her skin :) and we did not go home with that Dora doll but she was in love.

Oh my gosh, we were dying laughing!
Ok-that's all I got for tonight, will do Halloween post later, have a killer headache.

Stella and Dot

I don't post much about Stella and Dot on here, only when I really have something I want to share.  Well, today at Coop's preschool Halloween parade another mom and I were talking.  She asked me if Stella and Dot was hiring!  What?  I guess I just assume that everyone knows how Stella and Dot works, that it's your own business and yes, they/we are always hiring!  On that note, there is a sign-up special that expires October 31 at midnight.  So...if you or someone you know is looking for some extra  cash for the holidays (the $$ I made this month is going to pay for all our Christmas, yay!), a great rapport of girls, and/or a career with loads of beautiful jewels, send them my way!

Stella and Dot have played a very active role in Breast Cancer Awareness month with our Breast Cancer Boutique.  100% of proceeds from these pieces went straight the the Noreen Fraser Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.  She is the same lady that started Stand Up to Cancer.  I can't wait to hear how much money we raised for this cause.  The pieces were a hit with my customers this month.  Tomorrow is the last day to get them.  Get in touch with me if you are interested and I will take care of the shipping charges!  ash4545@hotmail.com

STL Wrap Up

We had such a fun weekend meeting Hadley Anne, hanging with all the family and watching the kids play together.  It was just about perfect!  Here are a few more pics from our few days...

Tanya and John hosted us all at their beautiful home to watch the Cardinals game.
GiGi kept Laney company...83 years in age difference but played together like they were BFF's :).
We got a VIP ride to the airport on Sunday on one of Papaw's busses.  Laney and Coop had fun!
The sweet Miss Hadley Anne Zick.  She is just perfect.  The tiniest thing that smelled of sweet baby and made the best cuddler.  I could love on her forever and wanted to pack her in my bag back to Texas.  Unfortunately I had to leave her with her mom and dad.  And I can't believe it has been 14 months since I have had a newborn!  They are officially the sweetest!
And, guess what!!??  In another 6 months there will be another Jones Grandbaby (not from me :)).  Aunt Cami is expecting baby #4 in April, yay!!!!  Right now the grandkid count is 5 girls, 4 boys.  Pretty soon we will know if the count will be equal again or if the girls continue to dominate.
Coop was napping :(.  Laney really had no opinion on Hadley.  When we first saw her she was in her car seat, so whenever Doodles would see the empty car seat, she would say, "bee-be."  Cooper never asked to hold her but kissed her feet a couple times.
How important did we look rolling up to the airport in this??  :)  Thanks for the VIP treatment Papaw!
There was a fight for the window seat, I won.  Laney decided to scream and be a wild worm the last 30 minutes of the flight, awesome.
Laney loved this singing skeleton :).  So funny and so totally opposite of what her brother's reaction would have been at that age.

Cousins

Our kids are pretty lucky on the cousin front when we get all the Jones' grandkids together.  Cooper is just 6 months younger than Kellen and exactly 1 year younger than Cash.  These 3 boys are going to be trouble.  On this trip it was fun to see them so excited to see one another and go play just the 3 of them.  They have hit that age where they don't need us adults to play with them, it was so neat to see.  Mamaw had bought some new building blocks and cars so they were in heaven.

They were pretty darn excited to get to go to Papaw's work and see all the busses.  It was a lazy Sunday so they all went in their SuperHero pjs :).
Aunt Tanya took these 3 on a nature walk.
 One of the wrestling matches.

While Coop is the youngest of the 3 boys, Laney is the oldest.  She is 6 months older than Brynn and 1 year older than Hadley.  At this age the girls aren't interacting much...or at all.  But as with the boys, we know in the blink of an eye they will be best friends and running all over the place.

Doodles looks like she's about to go in for attack on Hadley...I can promise you she didn't.
My sweet baby Laney Faith is officially a giant when compared to her cousins!

Pumpkin Patch - round #3

We spent a long weekend up in STL last weekend.  The main visit of our trip was to meet our newest niece/cousin Hadley Anne Zick.  The KC Jones came in town too, it was so fun to have everyone (except Braeden and Ava Grace) together.  Saturday morning was beautiful so we headed out to a local pumpkin patch.
Grandkids minus Braeden, Ava-Grace, Brynn, and Hadley.  Basically an impossible pic to capture.

Kellen and Cash were just dying to pull Laney in the wagon, they are so sweet to her.
It's official, my daughter dresses cuter than I do already.  These red skinnies are my fave!
It was a hug, not a choker hold :).
Mamaw and Papaw bought face painting for all the kids....
Cooper was so excited to get a Super Hero...until he sat in the chair and freaked out.

You could catapult baby pumpkins trying to hit targets for free pumpkins.  We didn't win any :(.  That is Cash helping Adam.
They had a petting zoo with feed for the animals.
 Spidey joined us.

Doodles loved the slides with Emily.

Another successful trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

3 year well check!

We are always a couple months behind with appts, hence the 3 year well check when he's actually 3 years and a few months.  All was good and we couldn't be happier about that.  Our only question was about his stuttering.  He stuttered for a couple weeks over the summer and it just disappeared.  It happened to reappear recently.  She reassured our thoughts that it is definitely common for this age and shouldn't be a concern at all at this point.
Here are his stats...weight 31 lbs, 35%ile. height 39 1/2 inches, 83%ile.  She was a tad concerned about his low weight.  We are definitely not.  He's a good eater and has had the same body build from day one.
His version of 2 thumbs up :).  He was not a fan of the paper robe they supplied, instead he rocked his underwear and socks with no cover up.

Hat Day

Coop represented our Jayhawks on hat day at preschool this week.  In his class of 10 kids, there are 2 other Jayhawk families...how awesome is that?!!?  Just one more reason I adore this preschool of his.

Book Nook

How have I not posted about the book nook yet?  Or have I?  Pretty sure I haven't.  Anyway, moving on...

I saw the idea on my friend Jenny's blog-think she had pinned it on her Pinterest board, which I check often :).  It was super simple.  I just scooted Laney's crib down a bit, gathered some pillows/blankets, and happened to already have a shower rod.  All I was missing was some fabric for curtains.  Of course, I waited on my crafty sis to come in town to help with that.  Here it is...
Ok-so not exactly big enough for the whole fam :)
Thanks Aunt Alli for creating the curtains, the book nook is complete!
The second you put Doodles down in her room, she goes straight for the nook!
It often becomes a wrestling ring.

Smile Fridays - week 21

I am not sure Smile Fridays posted on the following Monday is even legal, but I guess I make the rules here.

From the moment we landed in STL last Thursday until our plane was high in the sky last night, I couldn't stop admiring the beautiful fall foliage!  Seriously, I couldn't stop talking about it.  Literally in awe all weekend long.

I love our warmer weather here, but sure do miss the fall colors.  We are still green here and will be for sometime.  In fact, it was January of last year that we were raking leaves here.

These pics don't do the colors justice!  I was using my iphone for pics all weekend and the only time I took the time to snap a few was at the wineries.

Hope you all had a fun weekend, we sure did!  Posts to come!

Pumpkin Patch - round 2

Last Sunday we headed out as a fam to a new (well, not new, but new to us) pumpkin patch for the afternoon.  It was hot!  Definitely not what Adam and I are used as far as trips to the pumpkin patch.  It was sunny and high 80's!

Coop was pretty pumped to see Mater greeting us :)
Surprise, surprise, Laney is riding in the wagon again.  Just taking it all in.
She's out!  And clearly in awe of the corn stalks.
The corn maze-Cooper loved this.  He walked thru once with Adam and then walked me thru.

This just makes me smile :).

A decent family pic, yay!  Minus Cooper's awesome face.
