Urban Air - Grand Opening - July 31, 2015

This Sunday it will be 6 months since we opened our doors and I am just now writing the post.  Does that give you a glance into my life the last 6 months??
I wish I had blogged about grand opening weekend when it happened because I am sure I forgot so many funny stories and good details.  Here's what my memory has of this day and all the deprived sleep that came with it.
*Thankful to Tanya for taking my camera when she arrived so the day could be documented, thanks T!*
We left the store around 1-2am the night before opening and we had one family already camping out!  We couldn't believe it! By mid-morning this was the crew hanging out waiting for us to open our doors at 5pm.  The first 100 people in line got free jumping for a year.
The line was loonnngg, we couldn't believe it!  It was wrapped down and around the building by 5pm and it was h-o-t out!
We snuck our kids in the back doors to play before everyone came in.
Adam's whole fam came in town to show support,
obviously we were so happy to have them!

 these 3 girls = inseparable.

If I remember correctly, those pendants were installed just hours before we opened our doors.  There's that black rectangle my dad was penciling in a couple nights before.
This is me thinking, 'I have no idea what I am doing but hopefully I look the part?' ;)  We were doing a lot of 'winging it.'  Adam, Aimee, Nicole and I look back at that first day, week (maybe even month!?) and laugh.  We were totally learning on the fly.

Somehow, we let Em sneak in with the competitors socks!
Hi, we are sleep deprived and just a tad stressed.
My mom put together the beautiful arrangement and my sister sent my breakfast, lunch and dinner for a couple of days...so delish!
 This crowd was so awesome!
Adam and I made New Year's Goals on Jan 1 2015 while driving back from Wash, MO and no where on that list (or even close to it!) was to open a trampoline park, nevertheless with 2 gals we had never met before! But here we are, 8 months into the year and we are about to open the doors to Urban Air with our new business partners and friends.  You just never know where life is going to lead you.
God works in mysterious ways and this has been a fun one...a tad crazy but lots of fun too!
 Let's do this!
Ready or not, the crowd was here and ready to jump!
 I am so excited!
 Our first concessions customers.

Our nieces and nephews could fill the kids bowl without any other customers!

He cracks me up!
The kid doing the crazy jumping here is now a great employee!

 Sweet Laney Faith!
Our first birthday party was 2 hours after we opened!
We were so happy to host this sweet boy as our 1st birthday party customer.
And the love of dodgeball begins.
This boy had a rough few nights adjusting to the craziness of his parents never being around.  Thankful for my mom, sister, and Adam's family for taking him from the store screaming/crying a few nights because he wanted his parents to come home.  Dagger.in.the.heart.  I felt like the worst mom several days those first few weeks/months.  My kids' worlds were definitely rocked, but hey - if your parents are going to open a business and turn your life upside down, at least it's one you can enjoy!!!
Cooper and Aimee's oldest boy became quick buds!  Notice the clock-wouldn't be surprised if it was 10:17pm and they were still going strong on the dodgeball courts.
My mom picked up some champagne at my request and we toasted sometime after midnight when the doors were closed and the park had been cleaned.  We toasted that we got the doors open on time and laughed at all the funny stories from the night.
Day 1 complete, in bed around 2:30 and back at the store by 8ish the next morning.  Also, doing laundry during those hours because somehow we lived on 1 Urban Air t-shirt for a couple weeks.
Adam's family covered the kids grand opening weekend and clearly they had no fun ;).

Rusty and Alli took our kids in as their own.
We opened Friday night and this was Sunday night.  We promised him we would be home by bedtime and there was no breaking that promise.

We survived grand opening weekend and it was nothing short of awesome!

Urban Air - part 3 - Finishing Touches - part two

How's that for a title?
I had too many pics to put in the last post so I decided to split it into 2 posts.
This was Monday, July 27 and we opened our doors on Friday, July 31.  Needless to say, a lot of late nights that week at the store!
Testing out the warrior course while the adults worked.
The playground was getting closer to complete but not close enough to open with the rest of the park that week.

The kids got to spend some time jumping while we worked then my mom or sister would take them home.  Adam and I weren't getting home until way past bedtime.
So happy this girl made a full recovery after the tooth incident the week before.  I seriously adore her new smile!!!!!!
Aimee, Nicole and I spent a solid couple of days with the China men assembling the playground.  We couldn't feel our fingers for days after.  Nothing like taking instructions from men that only speak Chinese while breathing in their secondhand smoke.  It was a glamorous week.
God Bless my sister for taking my kids in!
Every single one of those metal poles had to be covered in that blue foam.  YIKES!
This is what I survived on late night for a solid couple of months.
My brothers worked all day at their regular jobs and then came up to the store to work for hours at night.  I couldn't be more thankful  for that and thankful for Tara that lent Bryson out for the week.
Of course my Dad was there too!  Seriously, I don't how we would have opened on time without their labor.
Those are all the tables in the party zone area.
Adam and I were at Ikea the day before grand opening picking up couches for the entryway.  Adam had never been to Ikea before and he would be happy to never go back again ;).
These mailers went out and there was no turning back ;)
Oh, the orange wall in the entry.  We just couldn't decide how to do the lettering.  So, here was my dad less than 48 hours before we opened penciling a rectangle to be painted black.  We really weren't sure how it was going to turn out...but it looks so good!
Aimee's oldest and Cooper made quite the bond the week before we opened.  They are dodgeball fanatics!

Next up, grand opening!!!!!!!
