Gymnastics!

Adam is gone this weekend on a golf trip which means we are not marathon watching Scandal when kids are sleeping so I am getting caught up on our lives!

Flashback to last winter when Cooper was playing soccer.  When he would get ready for each game, Laney would say, "me, me, me!?"  She still wasn't talking much more than that at the time.  I would say, "Laney do you want to do gymnastics or dance when we move to KC?"  She would nod her head.  Signing her up was on my looonnng to do list during our transition from Texas to Kansas.  My friend Stacey just happened to text me around that time that she was signing her daughter (2 days older than Laney) up for gymnastics.  Done.  So for the last 9 weeks we have spent an hour on Thursday mornings at gymnastics.
My fireball Laney was totally shy every.single.week.  In the introductory exercises, she was often attached to my leg and not doing what was asked.  She would eventually warm up.  She was excited to go each week and is now a master at forward rolls :).  I loved having some time with just her (and occasionally our sidekick Piper :)) each week.  Thanks to my mom for taking Cooper most weeks and Piper a few times too.

Believe it or not, I didn't take any pictures until the last day!
Laney and her BFF Gia.  I feel like I should have a picture of Stacey and I because it was basically our social hour for the week to catch up :).

At the end of their last class, they recognized each child.  They called their name for them to come up, get a stamp and hold their certificate up.  Laney was one of the last so she was diligently watching each kid jump up there all smiles and do it.  When her name was called, she crawled between my legs (what!?  this is not my laney!).  Her sweet friend Gia took her hand and helped her walk up.  This was as good as it got :).

Royals Game

A couple Sundays back Dad, Uncle Rusty and the kids enjoyed a Royals game.  My cousin was graduating high school and I had planned on a nice hour at church alone and graduation with my mom. The plan was for Adam to stay back with all 3 kids…then his friend called that morning with 4 Royals tickets.  Plans changed.  I went to church and graduation with Piper (put another notch in my public nursing belt, this time Kemper Arena) and the rest of the crew headed to Kauffman Stadium.  They had a blast!  It was Laney's first time and Adam said probably last for awhile.  She had fun but was 100% clueless about what was going on.  If the Peppes' are reading this (which I doubt they are), thank you for the tickets!!!

Please note Laney's tutu peeking out from under her dress.  She was playing dress-up when I left and clearly got away with it with Dad.  Please also note that my Cardinal fan husband is clearly sporting all shades of blue for the Royals…what?!
We love how Cooper wears his hats tilted up at a 45 degree angle.
They spent a lot of the game at the Little K.  I haven't been but it's basically a kid zone.  Laney at least looks the part, right?
Pretty sure this kid was in heaven.

Uncle Rusty was the lucky one that got to tag along for the day.
Cheers to more memories made.

Adam uploaded and titled this video...

Not a typical Thursday

This afternoon we headed out for a walk.  When we left Cooper asked me if it was going to rain.  I said, "no way, the sun is shining!"  Then I looked up and sure enough there was a rain cloud!  A minute later it started raining on us and we rushed back home.  My kids aren't usually fond of the rain.  In the past Cooper has acted like he might melt if raindrops hit him.  Well, when we got home I mentioned they should play in the rain…off they went!
When did she get so grown up!
Ok - so he wasn't 100% ok with the rain.  The helmet was his protection :).

The girl just kills me - carefree and dancing in the rain.
 We found an umbrella!

Baby sister talked to me while the kids played.
Just like that the clouds parted and the sun broke thru.  I had saw this on Pinterest and it was a quick game to throw together.  I just drew a target with chalk, rounded up a bucket and some sponges.  They tossed the sponges on the target to try and get the highest points.  Laney had no clue about the points but she managed to hit the 40 right away!

And then the sky looked like this again!
 One more round of rain!
Pippi had fallen asleep amidst all the fun.
I mean, can I freeze my babies at this age right now??  Please!!??

Grandma invited us to Summer Music Fest at Town Center Plaza.  We had so much fun!  My kids were a bit crazy but that is pretty typical :).
Apparently it was the place to be tonight!
The kids spent a lot of time in the bounce houses and then we found the balloon guy.
Cooper asked for IronMan and the balloon man delivered!
Coop loved it so much he had to take a pic of it himself.
Laney asked for a flower and Gunner a monster truck.  They walked all over Town Center barefoot, I even took Laney to the GapKids bathroom barefoot, yikes - so gross.
So fun!

5 months!

Our sweet Pippi was 5 months on May 12 - I took these pics close to that date even though this post is happening much later :).
-She weighs 15 lbs, 5 oz.  I know this because I had her at the pediatrician for her horrible cough :(. Doc said it was probably RSV that turned into bronchilitis.  Nothing you can do for it but let it run its course.  Poor baby.  She has sounded awful all.month.long.
-She is totally interacting with her toys now instead of just staring at them.  She reaches for things, holds on to them, puts toys in her mouth.
-Loves to watch her siblings and is laughing out loud, so fun!
-Just introduced food, at 5 months she was just eating butternut squash at dinnertime.
-I nurse her 7 times a day-one of those being between 2:45-4am.  Last week I said to Adam, "holy cow, she is 5 months old, why isn't she sleeping thru the night yet, this is crazy!!!"  Happy to report we broke her of that middle of the night feeding last week!
-She is still rockin' her dark locks - she is beginning to lose some of it though…proof is on her sheets and carseat.  However, I am definitely beating her in the hair loss category!
Obviously not sitting up as she toppled over when I turned around the grab my camera.  Actually - this is exactly how I feel about her already being 5 months!!!!

 She was so serious!
Those arms and legs are always moving!
 My favorite.

Piper's Baptism

Mother's Day was extra special this year as Piper was baptized!  We are so thankful to all the moms in our life that spent their day with us instead of spoiling themselves!

So happy to become a child of God!

Uncle Brock and Aunt Maggie are her Godparents.

She wasn't sure what to think but no tears.

There were 5 other baptisms that day so when it wasn't our turn we took some pictures.
It feels like yesterday we were having Cooper baptized - how is this baby #3?!?!
Our sweet Piper!  The oil and baptismal water did a number on her hair ;).

She wore the same gown that Laney and all the Jones' girls have worn.  Mamaw Jones had her wedding dress made into a baptismal gown- brilliant idea!
I always pick awesome times for family pictures.  Laney was hungry and Cooper wanted to play with his cousins.
This is as good as it gets these days!

4 generations - love these ladies!

4 generations!  Great picture, bad background.
Oh these sweet, sweet girls!!!!  Love that the weather is warmer so we get to see their rolls and tiny toes!
AJ, QJ and PJ :)
These two, good thing they are cute because they are ornery!!!!!!
