Piper - 6 months

She's 6 months people, how did this happen??  I swear it's like I blinked and 6 months passed.  Not fair.  Good news is that she is more fun everyday!!  A lot sure happened from month 5 to 6!

-Best news??  She is sleeping thru the night!!!!!!  We were on our car trip to Omaha when it hit me, I said to Adam, "she is 5 1/2 months, why isn't she sleeping thru the night yet???  This is crazy!"  Keep in mind that Laney was sleeping thru the night at something crazy, like 2 weeks.  I hadn't even noticed her middle of night feeding and really it wasn't bothering me one bit.  It only took about 15 minutes and there is something so sweet about it.  However, I knew we were leaving for Ft Worth in just a couple weeks and didn't want my mom to have to be up in the middle of the night with her.  So, we came home from Omaha on a Wednesday and let her cry it out Thursday night and boom! she was sleeping thru the night by Friday.  She still has her occasional middle of the night crying but I don't feed her.  I will go in and rock her because Laney can be a light sleeper.  Typically goes to bed around 9-10:30 and up around 6-7ish.
-She is taking a pacifier now (woo hoo!), mainly at nap and bed time.  She is easy to put to sleep - give her a pacifier, her little blankie, rock for a few minutes and she is usually out.
-The girl is taking a bottle!  Alleluia!  And she will even take one from me!!!!!!!  Still breastfeeding her full time, 5 times a day.  With the other 2 kids, I had totally weaned them off and onto formula/bottle at this point.  I don't feel in a rush with Piper so who knows.
-She is eating baby food at her dinner feeding.  She has had sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, blueberries, butternut squash, peas, bananas, watermelon - done well with it all.
-She was 26 inches long (58%ile).  I don't think either of the big kids have ever been below the 80%ile for height!  She was 16lbs, 1oz (50%ile) and her head was 70%ile.
-She's still rocking the one tooth on the bottom.
-Rolling/scooting all over the place, loves to watch her brother and sister.  She is constantly moving her legs and arms especially when she sees something she wants.  She is grabbing at her toys now, putting things in her mouth.

Most days I get all 3 kids napping at the same time but this day - she wanted nothing to do with sleeping.  So we did a little photo shoot in my room.  The adorable crown is from my good friends, Nicole and Maureen.

See that tooth on the bottom?
Aunt Tanya let us borrow this cute lace romper but she was kind of over picture at this point.
Nope, not quite sitting up on her own yet.
She was determined to play with those blocks so I gave her the S.  The hair!  Always in her face unless I have it clipped back.  I just bought a few tiny clips for this purpose.  She may need a haircut before her sister!
We think her smile is the best.
Happy 6 months sweet Pippi, we love you!!!!!!!

Preschool Memories

When we found out we were moving, the first thing I asked the kids' teachers was, "Can we still get their memory books!?"  At the end of the school year, each kid is gifted a scrapbook of their projects and pictures from the year.  Simply amazing!  The teachers promised to mail them and guess what…they arrived last week!

I was surprised because they weren't the traditional scrapbooks but Shutterfly books!!!!!
Title page and every answer is fitting for our Laney Faith.
Adam and I laughed while reading both kids' books.  Laney looks angry/annoyed in most pics and Cooper is usually rocking a totally awkward smile.

 Again, so fitting.
 He looks so little :(

Cooper's book also came with a portfolio of his work from the year.  This was our favorite page :).

I am telling you, our new preschool has a lot to live up to!!!

Sweet Sleeping Babies

Nothing makes my heart skip a beat more than peeking in on my sleeping kids.  Especially on days that have tested my patience, they are so sweet when asleep ;).  This specific day they had all been asleep for almost two hours!  Holy guacamole - I got sooooo much accomplished!
4 1/2
2 1/2
6 months
I posted this pic on Instagram with this caption.
All 3 kids have been asleep for over an hour.  I imagine this is what it feels like to win an Olympic medal. :)

Magna Tiles

Santa Claus brought Cooper magna tiles for Christmas this past year.  The kids played with them lots the weeks after Christmas.  Then we packed them up, moved, and kind of forgot about them.  Last month I unpacked the last box in the toy room.  It was mostly craft supplies but I found the magna tiles!!!  No joke, the kids have played with them every.single.day since I unpacked them.

They are coming up with quite the creations.

I love seeing what they create each day!  I think they are the perfect gift, not cheap, but a great big birthday/Christmas gift.  Cooper wasn't asking for them but I am so glad Santa Claus decided to get them.  And they appeal to kids of all ages, including adults, so fun!

A fun weekend - June 20-22

We had such a fun and busy weekend!  I wasn't too sad to see it end because I need to get my life back in order…specifically this zoo we call our home.

Thursday night was beautiful so we went on a walk after dinner.
Yay for being old enough to ride in a big girl stroller and not in the infant carrier!
They requested to drive the Barbie Jeep on the walk.  This is a 'Dad only activity.'  Seriously, I can barely watch when they drive that thing, it makes me so nervous.  They were supposed to be giving me a thumbs up, apparently Laney needs a bit of work on that ;).  Thank you to our Texas (well, now California) friends, the Jensens for the hand me down Barbie Jeep.  Cooper doesn't think twice about driving it around the neighborhood and I just love that.
The concrete pit is being cleaned up now and about to move on.  We will miss that place!
We decided to go play at the elementary school playground.

Friday was our last day of vacation Bible school, more on that in another post.  After Bible school we packed lunches and went to visit Mama Kelly.
Cooper always wants to mop her floors!  For the record, he never wants to mop our floors.  Mama was giving him mopping lessons.
Love that little shadow.  He told my grandma to keep Chester (her dog) out of the house so the floors would stay clean :).

Friday night we met some neighbors at the pool for pizza and swimming.  The kids had late and long naps so after swimming we went out for ice cream!
He was busy taking pictures (and staring at the girls across from us) while we waited for our ice cream.

She was so, so, so happy!

Saturday morning Coop and I went to SuperHero Saturday at a local kid/mom boutique.  I had told Cooper about it the day before and he was so, so excited.  He couldn't believe that Superman and Green Lantern were going to be there!
After prying him out of bed every morning for vacation bible school last week, he was in our bed at 7 on Saturday morning ready to go!  He chose this shirt because it had Superman and Green Lantern on it.
He was a tad disappointed that Green Lantern was a girl.
Toss the bean bag at Joker.
 Darts

Superman and Green Lantern had captured Mr. Freeze the night before and took all his popsicles for the kids!
Storytime!  It was a really cute event and perfect for Cooper's age, he was in heaven.

I came home and worked on the playroom while the kids played with me.  YIKES!
Love that Woody and Buzz still get lots of playtime almost 4 years later.

Cooper had tee ball pictures at 12:50 and a game at 1:30.  It was a h-o-t day!  Aunt Alli offered to come stay with the girls while I went to the game so they didn't have to be out in the heat and Laney could nap.
Playing in Laney's bed…my girls still in their pjs.

He had great hits this game.  It was nice to be able to watch the game and not worry about entertaining the girls at the same time.  Thanks Al!

After the game, we showered, packed and showed up fashionably late to Landree's 1st birthday party!!!!!!  I can't believe this is the only picture I have from the party :(.  She was so cute!  The kids had a blast playing outside.  Love that we can be a part of all the celebrations now and not just send gifts in the mail!
Adam and I left Landree's bash and headed to another.  Our kids got to stay and have fun thanks to Grandma and Grandpa.  We had a couple shower for my bff, Julie.  She and Kieran are getting married next month, so excited!!!!  It was a mexican themed shower with a margarita machine and taco food truck…doesn't get much better.  I am so happy we live in the same city now!
The 3 of us had lots of fun at KU, specifically as hard-working bartenders ;).

Sunday morning Adam and I slept in until 9am!!!!  We picked up the kids and met Bryson, Tara and kids at the Touch a Truck convention.
Who's this guy sporting all this Cardinals gear in KC???
The Touch a Truck convention is exactly what you would think.  They have trucks and equipment of all kinds for kids to climb in and play on.  The line for this combine was crazy long, but we waited.  That is the 3 of them in there.
Uncle Bryson and Pippi sporting their pink polos!
Gunner, Cooper and Doodles in the back of the sheriff's car…let's hope we don't see this again.
He definitely enjoyed all of this more than his sister.
I would love to know what he was talking to that sheriff about.  He was probably telling him about that yellow light I went thru the other night when he was petrified a police was going to follow us home and get me in trouble.
In the combine…impossible to get a pic of all 3 looking at the same time.

We headed home for some much needed naps after all that fun.  Well, for Cooper and Piper anyway.  This evening Dad took the kids and met the Jones' at the pool for pizza and swimming.  No pics :(.  I met my sis at the grocery store to shop for our sugar detox we are doing starting later this week.  I.am.scared.  Will post more about it later.
I pulled in the driveway just after the pool group.  The skies were turning dark quick and the wind was blowing a storm in.
They watched it from the deck.
While they watched the storm, I attempted to feed Piper.  She was more interested in Lola.
Those arms and legs of hers are constantly in motion!

I told you it was a busy and totally fun weekend!!!!!  Thankful for beautiful weather, family, good friends and healthy kids!
