Wash, MO Visitors

After the Fair weekend - Mamaw, the McCormacks and Zicks came for a final staycation before school was back in session.  It was just the girls this trip plus Kellen and Brody :).
The kids were so excited to see their cousins that we sat out on the driveway and waited for them.

The golf cart loaded up to go to the playground.

We got some playtime in before it started raining.  Then Adam graciously kept some of the kids back while us girls and the babies went out for a sushi dinner.
Taking care of Baby Brody is really hard work.
Saturday morning we introduced the group to one of our favorite places, Deanna Rose.
I will hate to see them outgrow this Superhero dress up stage.

The Super Hero fun was quickly over when Cooper stepped in mud and was sure he was stuck.  Drama.
Mamaw, Maggie and Tanya did some shopping at the MommyShop and brought home these Frozen nightgowns for the girls.  They were over the moon happy and then Adam turned on the Frozen soundtrack and they were in heaven.
She l-o-v-e-s this nightgown.  She got it on Saturday night, took off for Sunday morning and then it was back on again until Tuesday morning when I pried it off of her to put in the wash.
We celebrated Coop and Doodles birthdays - will post more on that later.  The girls loved Laney's new princess barbies.
Sunday morning Emily set up a beauty shop for the 3 little girls.
 Tanya did braids.
The finished products :).  Hadley had a few tears hence her mascara running.
And their matching braids.

After the beauty salon, we ventured out to the arboretum for the kids to run off some energy.
 Watching the train underground.

Mamaw and Papaw had brought the girls (Quincy too) these dresses from their trip to Mexico.  This was as good as it got for a picture - pretty cute!
Piper says - don't forget about me - I was here that weekend too!
Sunday evening the Jones got back from the lake so we all had dinner together to celebrate Cash's birthday.  That box from our deck furniture provided lots of entertainment over the weekend.
Somehow they ended up like this, boys!
Meanwhile the girls watched Frozen :).
Happy 6th Birthday Cashman!!!
This is what a playroom is for, right??

Legos - a first creation

Oh yes, with his 5th birthday came the introduction of Lego sets.  We thought it was a good time to introduce them - Coop is really good at focusing on one thing for a while and has messed with them a bit before.  Well, he loves them!  His room is a Lego war zone most of the time and he has built everyday since he got them for his birthday.
One night after his birthday I was upstairs putting kids to bed.  I came in his room to ask him to get pjs on and start the bedtime routine but stopped when I saw his concentration.  He was working so hard to build his first Lego creation.  So I put the girls to bed and let him be.
He 100% followed the directions himself - would look at a page, complete the instructions and move on to the next page.
The finished project!  Not exactly like the box shows but darn close enough!  I was so proud of him for following instructions in the book and not getting frustrated/give up.
The first of many Lego creations!

Random iPhone pics from first half of August

Her outfits never cease to amaze me!
I sent them to the deck to eat Pop Rocks candy Coop had got for his birthday.
This baby girl is definitely the messiest eater in the house these days.
We headed out for an evening walk - these two were very busy.
The bag lady.  She definitely slowed down our walk.

The top heavy shopping cart would tip over the smallest bump on the sidewalk.  Thankfully her brother was very helpful in loading her belongings back in the cart.  I couldn't stop laughing!
Lately we send good night pictures to Dad of us pretend sleeping - the kids think it's so funny.

The concrete pit is still around!
This girl is on the move!  More on this sooner or later :).

Piper's first ponytail

Yep-she's rocking her first ponytail at 8 months and it couldn't be cuter!
She has lots of hair on the top/front of her head and the back has really thinned out.
 Selfie!

For the record-I had no hair as a baby/toddler!  I probably couldn't rock a pony until I was 3 or 4…right Mom??

ps - I laugh everytime I open my blog and see the header that says Merry Christmas and poor Piper isn't even a part of!  Who knows when I will update it??
