Fun in Wash, MO

After Easter the kids and I drove to Washington to visit everybody, meet Baby Brynn, and for Papaw's surprise birthday party!!  Dad met us there a couple days later.  Coop had so much playing with his cousins and Laney had fun watching them all :).
This is precious Brynn Elizabeth!  I held her as much as I could, when not holding or chasing down my own:)).  She is perfect in every way and so small!!!!!
 The weather was beautiful!
It's always so fun to get the cousins together, but we sure did miss Braeden and Ava-Grace!
What will we all do when Maggie and Kyle's baby arrives in September??  They are always helping all of us take care of our kids!
No denying these 3 guys are father and sons!
Adam was in charge of these crazy boys in the bath

I realized about 5 minutes before we were leaving that I hadn't taken one picture with my newest niece!! She was obviously sad to see me leave.

Basketball Player

Coop has never been one to care about what he is wearing-in fact, I used to tell people I could dress him in the same thing everyday and he wouldn't notice.  That is, until about 2 weeks ago.  Out of nowhere, he has now decided he will only wear basketball shorts and shirts (preferably Jayhawk shirts.)  He is playing basketball everyday and when you ask whose team he plays for, he says, "Uncle Bill." :)

slammin' it down just like T-Rob :)

Cooper's Special Day

In Coop's preschool class, they all have summer birthdays, so this last month of school they each get a day  to celebrate.  The teachers stopped calling it their birthday because the kids were so confused thinking they were 3, but really weren't yet and who can blame them?  So, a special day it was!  I took Coop to the sweets aisle at Target and he chose yellow cupcake mix and chocolate icing with sprinkles.
They celebrate right after nap, hence the sleepy eyes.  How much do you love the birthday special day cape???
Coop's friends singing "happy special day" to him...there are more kids, but they were still snoozing.  By the way, in case you were wondering, it was pirate day at school.  Cooper wasn't so into it.
Another view of the birthday cape that I just loved!  The best part is that it reverses to pink for the girls!

Mother's Day

I just love this short video that Stella and Dot posted today for Mother's Day!  What a cute wrapping idea for any gift! See it all on my website, here!  Message me if you have any questions or are interested in ordering...Mother's Day shipping deadline is May 5th.

Sitting Up and Saying Ma-Ma

At 7 1/2 months, Laney is officially sitting up on her own and not toppling over seconds later!  Man, I love this stage-I feel like she can be so much more involved in playing with Coop and I.

She is saying ma-ma now :).  She had kind of started saying it, but it was pretty random.  One night I put her to bed and she was not happy, crying and saying, ma-ma, ma-ma.  Cooper looked at me and said, "Mom, Laney is calling for you."

I have to point out Laney's vintage Lacoste shirt...1980's vintage.  Yep, it was mine and I love it on her!

As always, we had a week full of visits in KC!

A few of my favorites from the week...

Tearing up South OP in the Barbie Jeep with Cash
Laney and Henry had a fun morning together!  Love their smiles!!!
We met the Stilleys for a beautiful morning at Deanna Rose Farmstead.  This is my favorite place to visit when we are back in Kansas!  Coop was loving the goats, especially this baby one.
 Busy checking out the bunnies!
My how a year changes things!
This may be the only picture I have of the 3 of us all looking at the camera and (kind of) smiling.
Basketball with Brock!

First Mani/Pedi

It was overdue...I mean, she was 7 1/2 months :).
First attempt was when she was awake=nightmare
2nd attempt when she was sound asleep=perfect!  Wouldn't you love to fall asleep and wake up to manicured fingers and toes?  And, don't you love Adam's rear end right in the middle of the pic?
The finished product!  Oh, I l-o-v-e these chubby toes!!!!!!

ps- Laney started crawling (for real, not just scooting) tonight, on her 8 month birthday!

Happy Easter 2012!

Let's pretend I wasn't at Wal-Mart the night before playing Easter Bunny :)
This picture cracks me up for a couple reasons-love her bed head and the fact that she is holding up that egg like, 'is this it?'
The hunt was on right after we emerged from the tent-don't you love the outfit!

typical...in his defense, I decided we needed a family picture as he was walking out the door to go play.
 Love the pink bows!
Funny story here...Mama Kelly thought she had bought all the kids bubbles, but it was slime :).  Honestly, I think the kids liked the slime more than they would have the bubbles!
Mama and 3 out of 4 granddaughters, we were on the porch watching a family game of softball...

Happy 1st Easter Laney!  We love you and can't wait to have you hunting eggs with your brother next year.

Easter Egg Coloring

This was the first year we colored eggs and honestly we didn't start until about 9:00 the night before (thanks to a reminder from my sis)!
It's too bad he doesn't get any attention ;)
Sitting on a table dying eggs..definitely at the grandparents house!

Doodles was too busy laughing with Uncle Bryson and I to color eggs.
In the end, Aunt Alli was the only one left coloring eggs with Coop!

1st Campout!

1st campout...if you include setting up a tent in the backyard a campout, which I 100% do!  The afternoon before Easter Dad randomly set up a tent in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard with intentions of a family campout.  Well, I am not much of a camper and we were pretty sure Coop wasn't going to cooperate.  Did I mention it was supposed to be in the low 40's that night!!??  Moving on...Coop and Dad headed out at 10 for the night, after about 30 minutes I went out to check on them.  Cooper was out, sound asleep!  Oh yeah, Cooper was diagnosed with croup the day before after spending all night Thursday and Friday coughing.  Adam's reasoning for the tent when he was sick..."the doctor said cold air is good for him."  Well, he was right.  So, I sucked it up and camped out with my boys.  We all slept soundly until about 7am...couldn't believe it!
 The set-up

The Easter Bunny is a pretty smart bunny, he knew Cooper was in the tent!
Following the trail back into the house, eating chocolate on the way.

Texas Bluebonnets

Texas Bluebonnets bloom in the Spring for just a couple weeks...some fun facts about those bluebonnets here.  There is a big hill in our neighborhood that blooms with these and just about every time I drive by during those 2 weeks there are families taking pictures.  I had good intentions last year but it just never happened, so this year I was determined.  Well, we did it but I wouldn't say they are the best or how I dreamed they would turn out.  My subjects were willing to cooperate, just not at that the same time :).

This is just one of many outtakes :).
