The Alfermanns visit!

I mentioned that we started May out with a bang...and we did with a visit from our good friends, the Alfermanns.  They arrived Friday evening-we grilled up some chicken quesadillas and caught up outside enjoying the beautiful weather!
Saturday morning, Knox joined us for Coop's soccer game while the rest of his family hit up Ikea.  They are expecting TWIN BOYS at the end of the summer, so they needed some new bed options for Knox and Nora ;).
Hey kids, look at me and smile!!  They could careless that Cooper was playing soccer.
We took them to meet our 4th baby...which I really need to blog about!  That baby has a lot of growing to do!
Poor Pippi-she was down and out with some bad allergies!  She was in bed before 7 both nights.
The boys took the big kids on golf cart rides!
Wanna hear some genius parenting??  On Saturday we let the kids skip naps so that we could put them to bed early so that we could enjoy our dinner!  Adam and Nick did the grocery shopping and all the cooking...steak, chicken, potato and veggies, all on the grill.  The kids were all in bed by 7:40 but we let Coop, Laney and Knox have a sleepover in our room so they finally fell asleep 3 hours later ;).
We ate a late dinner outside and recalled lots of our crazy memories we had together before kids...the Alfermanns lived in Dallas when we lived in Ft. Worth...before we all had kids...that should explain everything.  Then the boys ditched us, hopped in the golf cart and went to watch the fight somewhere else.
They finally crashed!  Last time we had checked on them, they all had stuffed animals in their bellies having babies.  Funny kids!
As I went to bed at 11:30-this girl decided to wake up screaming.  Because I knew she didn't feel good, I fell for it and got her up...big mistake.
Sunday morning we were all moving slow but we did finally get up and took the Alfermanns to one of our favorite places, Deanna Rose!
 She loved the baby calves!

Pippi's first time in with the goats and she was all smiles!

It takes this boy for.ev.er to feed the goats his bottle because he wants to make sure he shares it with many and he does not like to feed the greedy goats!
We made it about 1/2 way thru and every kid had a meltdown of some sort so we called it good and headed to lunch.  The long weekend was catching up with everyone and naps were needed soon!
The meltdowns for my kids continued at lunch so for one more form of torture I requested we get a group pic and I am so glad we did!!  Looking back I didn't have many pics from the weekend and I love to see how they grow each time we get together.
 Twinsies!!!
Knox wanted a pic with just Piper ;), so sweet!
We were so sad our friends were leaving :(.
I woke this tiny dancer up early from nap and went to watch my amazing niece Ava dance.  She is so incredible and always sweeps up the awards at competitions...wish I had some video of her!  Laney was in heaven and hasn't stopped talking about it since.
Adam sent me this pic from home.
She wore one leg warmer, a nightgown and her underwear backwards to bed.  Oh Laney!

Thanks Nick, Maureen, Knox and Nora for coming to visit-we had so much fun!  We can't wait for you to add those sweet baby boys to your family this summer!!!!!!!
