Omaha Zoo!

The week before Memorial Day weekend, Adam was supposed to be out of town for work.  Well, due to budget cuts his trip got cancelled.  He already had Mon-Wed blocked off for this trip so he mentioned doing something with the kids, maybe Great Wolf Lodge??  Ha!  Have you seen our children around water lately - GWL would be a huge waste of money for us.
Recently I have had a couple of friends take little trips up to Omaha and came back with rave reviews.  Omaha it was.
We left our house around 8am Monday morning and headed straight for the zoo.  The weather forecast was calling for rain on and off but we didn't get any rain, it ended up being the perfect weather day!  Not too hot and no rain, woo-hoo!
This little girl of ours has never really been a fan of road trips.  She was up really early and we were hoping for a nap in the car…not so much.
On our way in!
First stop was the butterfly house and the kids were not fans.  Laney is checking out the butterfly that had landed on Dad.

We loved the aquarium!
Cooper was really into taking pictures of the animals on my phone.  I adore this picture of him.
This was the picture he captured.
 Laney petted a starfish.
Laney was a real peach…at this point we were begging her to nap.
Checking out these birds...

I had to include this as it sums up our day in the stroller with Laney.  She wanted in, she wanted out.  She would jump out without telling us, which led to a scraped up knee.
This was inside the jungle area.  It was 2 levels and so amazing!

We would be walking along and Cooper would say, "let's stop here for a picture." :)

These 2 ran thru the sprinklers.  No surprise here, Cooper and I watched :).

This sweet baby girl was so great the whole day!
The big kids and Dad went to see the big cats while I nursed Piper.
This beautiful peacock was just out wandering around.
It was about 5:00 when this girl finally fell asleep.  And we all breathed a sigh of relief ;).
The desert dome.
Adam and Coop checked this out while I got the girls ready to go into the zoo.  Why is he running to 3rd base???

Such a fun day with our crew!  We left the zoo about 6 1/2 hours after we arrived and only slowed down for lunch.  It was awesome!  Great zoo, so much to see and do!
