KU Football Game (at least that's what they call it)

Many of my very best memories from college involve Adam and my best friend, Julie.  We had so much fun together.  Julie and I finally live in the same state but with kids/jobs/etc, we don't see one another nearly as much as I would like to.  We found an open Saturday in October and met up where it all started, Lawrence.  It was a beautiful day so we met on the hill to watch/listen to the KU/Baylor game and just catch up.  It was awesome...not the game, the company.  KU lost 66-7, yikes.

Skinny jeans, puffy vest, accessories, coffee (it was actually my hot chocolate ;))...just a few years shy of fitting right in on campus.
 I adore her sass!
 Her first football game!
I love nothing more having all of us in Lawrence - if I haven't said it a million times, I adore this city.
Cooper played catch a million times.

The girls and I loved on sweet Madeline as much as we could.  Give us a baby and we are so happy!
Oh the stories Julie and I could tell our girls about our time here in Lawrence...we'll save that for another day...or decade.  We had the best time just enjoying the sunshine and catching up!!
All 3 kids passed out on the way home.
Beautiful night = golf cart ride!

Another gorgeous sunset from our back deck.  The perfect ending to a pretty perfect day!

Laney's 1st Field trip

Laney had her first class fieldtrip and we went to the Louisburg Cider Mill.  One of our favorite places!  We saw the apples being washed, cider and donuts being made.  The kids got to sample both and play a little bit before a hayride out to the pumpkin patch.
We had some free time while we waited on the hayride so I snuck a picture with her.  It always interesting to see your kids outside their home environment.  She was a totally different kid, so shy!  She stayed close to my side the whole time and didn't say more than 5 words.
These cute boys kept photobombing us ;).
She found a pumpkin!  We were short on time so it was a quick hayride to grab a pumpkin and get back.
It was a hot October day so I got her a cider slushy!  I love these one on one times with the kids!

Mom/Son Night at School

Cooper's school had a mother/son night-think pizza, games, and a magician.  What else could a boy ask for?!

Love this boy!  I asked him if he wanted to get dressed up to take me out for a date and he thought I was crazy.
We had pizza in the cafeteria and then there were lots of fun games made for pairs set up around the gym.  We played them all - he never wanted to leave my side and I couldn't have loved that more!!  I know it won't always be this way.  What happens when you put over 100 boys in a gym with balloon swords??  Sword fights and lots of noise!!  Seriously, it was soooo loud!
We took a seat on the floor for the magic show.  Again-he asked me to sit with him ;).  We had so much fun!  I love getting this boy to myself - he's the sweetest!!!!!

Meanwhile, here's what Adam and the girls were up to...
 Ice cream and
Scheels!

Donuts with Dad

The morning of October 1, Laney had Donuts with Dad at school.  She was so excited to take him to her school!
In her favorite outfit that Aaron and Cami gave her for her birthday.
This is pretty accurate!  Except for the age but in her defense, she knew he was 34...it just sounds like 44 when she says it. ;)
Adam said she was super shy...she is a different girl at school then at home, that's for sure!

September Wrap Up

One more September post!  This is random, just some pictures I forgot to include other places.

I love when Laney's teacher texts out pictures during the school day!
These people!  There just aren't words. They made Urban Air opening possible...seriously-we wouldn't have opened on time without them.  Every single one of them was a huge help!!  From building tables to taking on my children -they literally did it all.  Adam and I took them out to dinner one night as a small token of thanks.  We don't get out very often (or ever) without any little kids!
His first school spirit day!  He was excited to wear his new gear!

September evenings are good for golf cart rides exploring the local neighborhoods.  We found this little river while exploring some wooded area that hadn't been built up yet.

We decided it was our new favorite spot and couldn't wait to come back...and then we did a couple weeks later and it had been all fenced off for development.  Boo.

This is 10 out of the 12 kids in Coop's Kindergarten class. They go half day in the afternoon so the moms (never me of course) plan fun events every so often in the mornings for the kids.  This day it was a trip to the fire station.  It happened to fall on my day to work at UA so one of the moms took Cooper along.
I feel like we have been doing fire house tours since he could walk!

Picture day for this sassy and sweet 4 year old!
We hit up our favorite spot, Deanna Rose, before they closed for the season.
This is me, "smile children and I will take you to Chick-Fil-A for lunch!"

Well, I think that wraps up September!

Big Cedar Lodge

For the 2nd year in a row, we tagged along with Adam to Big Cedar Lodge for a work trip.  See our fun last year, here.  The kids were so little!

We got comfy before kicking the kids to the floor and Pippi to her pack'n'play in the bathroom.
 Everyone pretend to be asleep!
Last year the kids were scared of the animals, not this year.  She wanted to kiss this deer in our room!
 This place is beautiful!
Adam had meetings, so the kids and I grabbed breakfast and explored the property.
 It was a beautiful day!
At Cooper's request, we hit up the putt putt course.  I wrangled Piper while he and Laney played.  Somehow we forgot a stroller so I was literally wrangling Piper the whole trip.
 He loved keeping score.
This little lady got a hole in ONE!  She didn't even know what she had done ;).

We noticed they were doing tye-dye shirts across the lawn.  We are on vacation so I said, why not!?  The kids got to pick out their shirt, tye-dye design and we rubber banded them accordingly.
There were several buckets of different colors and they chose how to dip.

 It was sunny ;).
When you aren't 2 yet and don't speak your mind on items like this, you get to watch your brother/sister and carry the bags ;).
 They were super excited!
We are big fans of a golf cart ride!
At some point, Adam had the night off.  I can't remember the exact details of our trip since it was 6 months ago ;).  We headed to Top of the Rock and went on a golf cart ride thru a cave and around the property.
We got to drive thru an actual cave...and the best part...it had a drive thru bar!  Awesome!!!
 Incredible views!

This was the view of the bridge floor looking down, yikes!
Piper fell in love with waterfalls on this trip!

The kids and I went swimming one morning.
Then we came back to the room for afternoon naps.  Yes, Laney is sleeping on hotel floor with no blanket.
Sweet sisters in matching PJ's!
She ended up in bed with us super early one morning.
There was a fishing contest one morning so off we went.  Pippi didn't last long before I was just chasing her up and down the sidewalk, making sure she didn't get a hook in the face.

Coop was very serious about his fishing.
Laney did pretty well, she lost interest after a while.

 Cooper got one!!!
He was over the moon happy about it and lost the contest by just a few ounces in his age group.
The weather wasn't ideal, but we went ahead and rented a boat for the afternoon - like we did last year.  I was in sweater and sweatpants the whole time!  Pippi took her afternoon nap on the boat, I loved it.
Lots of fishing, no action from the fish though.

I think they had the most fun playing with the minnows!

After the boat ride, Adam and Cooper continued fishing.
We went out to dinner with more animals on the wall.
They were so proud of themselves for touching the dead animal ;).
Adam took the big kids putt putt golfing in the dark and I stayed back at the cabin watching the Pope coverage with Piper.

They came back to the cabin and we all went outside to watch the lunar eclipse.
Laney loved setting the table for her imaginary customers in our cabin.
Meanwhile the boys built a fire.
I tried to get a picture of the kids in their Halloween pjs and no one would cooperate.
See what I mean?  I gave up but have about 15 more pictures just like this one.
We came home Monday morning in time to feed the kids lunch and send them to school.  Laney was excited to wear her tye-dye shirt!
My favorite pictures from the trip.  I am thankful for Adam's work meetings to fun places that we tag along to!
