Well, make that Coop's 18 month well visit at 20 months. With the move, I just found a pediatrician we liked in a good location, so we are slightly behind, but aren't we always?
At just 35 and 1/2 inches, he is in the 95%ile for height. Not a shocker, as this is where he has been from the day he was born. However, his weight was the surprise...he was 24 lbs, 1 oz in the 18%ile! A complete shock to me, he has always been in the 50%ile for weight. We know he's bony, but not that bony!
The Dr was quizzing me on what he ate and how much milk he drank. He loves his milk and drinks plenty of it, which is good. However, the doc told me I needed to "fatten him up" before his 2nd birthday...her words not mine! Her advice-no more cereal for breakfast (which Cooper loves!), stick to eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, etc., and they should all be soaked in butter...eww. I never cook anything in butter, rarely have it in the house, and it completely grosses me out to put it on his vegetables, but if the doctor says so... She also suggested staying away from carbs=crackers of any sort. Add lots of cheese and yogurt to the diet. Any other 'fattie' options for my 'skinny' kid??? :)
The real bummer of the visit...3 shots! He was screaming, but was fine 10 minutes after. However, later on that night, he was fussy with a slight fever. The next morning he could barely stand up in his crib :( His legs were sore all day, a tiny bit of it was funny but sad too.
Does this look like a kid that needs more fat or has sore legs...
Maybe if you start eating off of Cooper's plate we can fatten you up a little too Ash! :) Feed that baby in your belly :) (just giving you trouble skinny thing!) Love ya!
