Saturday morning we left bright and early at 7am for our journey south to Texas. Cooper is my son and not an early riser, not happy to be woken at 6:45am, but off we were. First stop was for gas and lunch in Joplin. Little did I know, my dad and Adam had planned this. It was my fabulous' Mom's 50th birthday that weekend, and we were sad to not get to celebrate together. Well, my Dad and Aunt Alli surprised us both by putting her in the car and driving 2 hours to have lunch with us at none other than Chick-Fil-A. We ate and watched Coopie walk all over playland. It was the best way to spend our lunch stop in Joplin. Thanks Mom, Dad, and Alli, you are the best!!!
Happy 50th Grandma! Glad we got to spend a little time with you!! (Yes, we took Coop to lunch still in his jammies, he was that kid, better yet, we were those parents!)
And, he sleeps. On our several hour journey, this kid only slept about 2 hours!!!
He kept very busy with Buzz and of course, watching Toy Story 1 and 2.
Our last stop. Coop had a dirty diaper false alarm that caused us to stop. We pulled off on a "scenic turnout," we always see these signs but never stop, well, we did this time! I suppose it was scenic, doesn't seem so scenic after being on the road for 10 hours!
Dirty diaper false alarm, think he just wanted out of his carseat for a minute or two! Please take note of Lola head down in Coop's carseat taking care of leftover Goldfish. :)
Because of that U-Haul trailer on the back, this fabulous guy drove the whole trip! And, he didn't complain one bit, even when I dozed off from time to time...nothing puts me to sleep like a car ride!
So, 11 hours later we arrived at our temporary home until we find a more permanent home. More on our apartment life later...
