More Weekend Fun with the Jones'

After a fun night at the rodeo, the girls had a morning of house decor shopping (more on that later), lunch and pedis.  The boys did breakfast, worked out, and took the little boys swimming at the gym.  We all met back up at home to cook dinner, had friends over and watched the KU-MU game (let's not talk about-I like to pretend it was just a bad dream...no joke).

Oooh, these 2 boys were trouble together all weekend, but especially so this night.  Maybe it's because us parents were a little enthralled in the game and not so much what these 2 troublemakers were doing.  At one point, it was quiet so Adam went upstairs to see what they were up to.  Well, he found them in our back guest room in the corner with hands full of girl scout cookies and chocolate faces!!!!!!!!!  This means they had gone in the kitchen and snuck them upstairs, yes we should have been disciplining them but we were too busy laughing!

 We all rocked our Kansas gear and did some serious Rock Chalking, but it just wasn't enough this time :(

 This sweet girl and her sis spent the evening dolling up Lola.  I think they had her in every one of Laney's bows :).  Here she is sporting her KU pride!

They got the girls to put them in Laney's crib :).  The best part of this...the baby monitor is in her room, so we could keep an eye/ear on them!  Have I blogged about Laney's nursery yet?  I guess I need to do that, I truly love it, especially those letters that Uncle Kyle and Aunt Maggie painted!

Thanks Uncle Aaron, Aunt Cami, and Cash for coming to visit, we had so, so much fun with you all, but next time Braeden and Ava-Grace must make the trip!

More Visitors and a Trip to the Rodeo

Dad was home for a weekend and the Kansas City Jones' were here for a fun few days!  The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo was in town, so off we went!  We went last year, see our visit here, but we didn't go to the rodeo.  It was such a fun night and the little boys were in total awe the whole time.  They were entertained for the whole rodeo, over 2 hours!

 Cooper asked me over and over again, "When the bulls come on Mom?"

 Laney was perfect!  She sat contently through the whole rodeo and even napped for a part of it.  Don't you just want to eat those perfect round cheeks all up!!!??

Ouch!

Isn't this always how it goes, you have a master plan to get kids bathed and in bed early (or just on time) so you can enjoy the KU game live (especially since Dad is out of town) and not dvr'ed, but you know what happens next...all he&@ breaks loose!  I was changing Laney's diaper and Cooper was wearing his version of gloves (pot holders).  He went to get me a pair and apparently when running back, he fell and busted his mouth (literally) on the tile floor.  I came in the kitchen to a screaming toddler and a very bloody mouth.  My first thoughts?  Oh no, is it bad enough for stitches??  Well, it wasn't, I got the blood under control pretty quickly.  However, I had a hard time figuring out where exactly all the blood was coming from, there were 2 cuts in his lower lip-I think from his two top teeth.  His top lip was bloody and fat.  And then he opened up his mouth and I saw his gums...ugh, they were bleeding and already completely bruised.  The pics can tell the rest of the story...

 This is pretty soon after.  I just couldn't get him to stop crying-it took his blanket, a juice box and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I also gave him some Tylenol as I was afraid he would have a hard time sleeping.

 So...instead of early bedtime, we did bath and watched the first half of the KU game together.  No worries, that isn't blood, just a popsicle.  Doesn't it look like he has Botox in his lips?

 This is right before bed.  His lip swelling had gone down, but those gums and teeth...yuck!  It made my stomach queasy every time he opened his mouth.  He was totally fine at this point, however I was not-as soon as he was asleep I left a message for his dentist to make an appt.

 On the way to the dentist the next morning.  We stopped for a breakfast smoothie as I didn't know what he should eat...gums were still bleeding and nasty looking.

Oh my gosh, I love our dentist, it is a pediatric office and they are so kid friendly!  Coop got to pick a movie (Toy Story, duh!) and he was in heaven since he rarely gets to watch movies.  They did an x-ray, he did awesome so they gave him that green football.  X-rays came back good-no root damage.  He did have a couple teeth mobile with worry of infection, so they put him on antibiotics.  When we left the office, Coop said to me, "Mom, I love that place!"  

We are 9 days out from initial fall and everything seems to be healed up fine, we go back in March for checkup...fingers crossed!

Pajama Day

It was pajama day at school a couple weeks back.  Here's Coop with his bffs Tom and Meghan.  Who doesn't love pajama day???

hair loss :(

I was afraid these days were coming, but I was holding on to that sliver of hope that Laney's dark, luscious locks would stay forever!  I swear she turned 4 months and it was falling out like crazy!  And I am in the same boat, my hair is falling out in chunks!

At just a day old, oh my gosh, i forgot about ALL that hair!!!

6 weeks...one of my favorite pics!

Look closely and you will see the evidence, these are her sheets where she rubs her head and out falls all that hair!

 Do you see the dark patches of hair?  Yep, those are knots from her rubbing her head when laying down.  I just can't bring myself to cut them out!!  It was the hair she was born with...just can't do it!  So, for now she has dreads :).  They are slowly falling out themselves, finding them in her bed and carseat.

She's still holding on to a few locks, for now anyway.  I wonder when her new hair will come in and if it will still be that gorgeous dark brown/almost black???

Visitors-Part 2

Another week=Dad is out of town=we get another round of visitors...yay!  Mamaw, Gigi and Aunt Maggie drove down for a long weekend and we were ecstatic for them to be here!  We ate lots of good food and enjoyed the beautiful weather, it was perfect!

Tractor Trouble was the book of the weekend, I think we all read it to Coop 15 times.

Friday morning was so beautiful we headed to the zoo.  This guy was a little grumpy and wasn't too fond of us staring at him, can't you tell?

We loved watching all the monkeys, so entertaining!

We have somehow always missed the bird exhibit,  Coop wasn't sure what to think

I came home Saturday afternoon after a Stella and Dot show to this...Aunt Maggie and her sweet girlfriends were hanging out with Coop in the bathroom and got him to sit on the potty (not an easy task). He didn't go on the potty, but sitting is the first step!
