Golfing Buddies

Just the other day (after Adam had played 45 holes the day before) I said, "Who remembers how awesome it was when Dad didn't like to play golf?"  Me!Me!Me!

Unfortunately he has really taken to this hobby over the past year or so.  Fortunately, he has taken Cooper under his wing.  And Cooper is all over it.  We have a golf course in the neighborhood so Cooper asks me a few times a week when Dad is taking him to the driving range. :)

I love that Adam is usually willing to take Cooper with him and love even more that Coop has taken to golf so well!  Good job Santa Claus on bringing those golf clubs...I doubted you just a tiny bit but not anymore!

Or as Cooper calls it, pilot...I rarely correct him because it makes me smile every time he mispronounces it.

As I am sure you have noticed, messes don't bother me.  If the kids are happy and entertained, it can all be cleaned up later.  If I didn't feel this way, my kids new hobby would seriously disturb me.  They like to pull off all the couch cushions and our bed pillows to make a jumping area.  Then they jump, jump, and jump.  It's pure happiness I tell ya!

Yesterday was a rough day with a certain almost 4 year old.  Just normal stuff but taken to a new level...talking back, not doing what was asked, bothering his sister, you name it.  When Adam got home it continued.  Seeing I had taken away basically everything for the day/night, time was slowly ticking.  Adam and I looked at the clock and it said 6:30...nowhere close to bed time.  I suggested they make a jumping pile and they were all over it.  Adam and I were able to actually talk and plan some travel for upcoming months.  After a while we couldn't help but join in on the fun...

Cooper's first season of tee ball

Well, after going thru tee ball pics/videos I realize I shouldn't have saved it all for one post.  Lots of pictures coming up people!

We got Coop the Little Tikes tee ball set for Easter a couple years back, so he was just over 18 months.  I feel like those months between Easter and Laney Faith arriving we were outside almost everyday playing ball.  And I know this is a mom's opinion of her son but the boy could hit the ball from early on.  We have hesitated signing him up for any sports for a couple of reasons, #1-he is pretty shy in new situations and we were afraid that he wouldn't actually play in the games. #2-we are selfish.  we know our future is full of weeknight practices/Saturday morning games and we just weren't ready to start that commitment.  Well, several of Coop's friends from preschool were playing this summer and one of the dads was coaching, so we felt it was the perfect time to start.  

The season was perfect!  He had practices on Monday nights and luckily Adam was in town for almost all of them and able to help Coach out with all those 3 year old kids!  Cooper was excited for every practice and game, always ready to hit a home run and to get a Gatorade ;).  

 I haven't ordered the past 2 years of his preschool school pics, but these...how could I resist!?  It's a classic combo of cute and totally cheesy.  

 This is just the cutest thing ever to me, he made us so proud each time he went up to bat!

 The 2 Laneys kept themselves occupied with each other's toys and food.  **like laney's wristband?  coop put his spiderman one on for the game, so of course she just had to have one on too ;)**

Laney became known as the apple girl.  For each game, I cut up 2 apples and she usually finished them both.  For a girl that barely sits still, she was a rockstar at these games.

Coach and Cooper.  I just love that he always referred to him as Coach and Cooper totally admired him.  Coach Harris was so great and patience with those kids.  I feel like he really knew each one and always took the time to look them in the eye and talk.

Mom and Dad are so proud of your awesome tee ball season Coop!  We were so happy to see you happy!

We had a team pizza dinner and trophy presentation.  Cooper is pretty darn proud of that trophy :).

Well, I have a couple cute videos but I can't find them!  Will leave that up to Adam and hope to have them posted tomorrow evening :).

Alli's Baby Shower

This post is a bit out of place...just got some pics I was waiting on.

Part of the reason for our midwest tour last month was to celebrate Alli and Rusty's baby GIRL!  We had a shower with family and friends, it was a great celebration!  Alli is usually the one in charge of decor and planning but this time it was all on my mom, Tara and I.  And I must say, I think we did a fabulous job :).  

It all started with the fun colors from this invite, see it here.  This Etsy shop owner was great to work with, totally recommend her!

 Tara and I proudly put this diaper cake together, we even used a glue gun, whoa!! 

 The invite gal also did these cupcake toppers.

 I was inspired thru Pinterest (of course) for these tissue puffs.  I have my friend Jenny to actually thank for them though!  She happened to have the colors I needed hanging out in her basement, thanks Fimmen.  I am sure it would have taken us hours and hours to create on our own.  I also got the banner from Etsy (did I already blog about it?).  See the shop here.  She customized it to match our invites.

Smile Fridays - week 43

Happy Friday Y'all!  We had a fun (and very sweaty) night at the Fort Worth minor league baseball game.  

Do you all watch Jimmy Fallon??  He is part of the reason I am up late many nights, he's freakin' hilarious.  Can't wait for his switch to 10:35pm early next year.  This is classic.

OMG...this is so me.  I lose all control at the grocery store.  I have control thru the produce department because they are busy eating their free bakery cookie.  Then all hell breaks loose.  They are in and out of  that race car.  I will put Laney up front (buckled in) and she manages to wiggle out.  Cooper insists to stand on the side and pretend he's a trash truck guy so that means Laney has to do the same.  It is at the grocery store when I feel people see my preggo self and think "why is she having another when she can't control her two!?"  I blame it all on the race car grocery store cart inventor.

I got to see the debut of the the Fall line at Stella & Dot's annual conference last month in Las Vegas!!  Where is the last place you want to be pregnant?  I can now answer that for you, Las Vegas.  And imagine 3,000 women (many with young kids/husbands that don't get out much) loose in Vegas...it was mom's gone wild, so fun even though I was 100% sober!

Me and my roomie.  We didn't know one another last year when we went potluck but now I can't imagine rooming with anyone else, we are a good match!  And she's a fellow Jayhawk, instant bond :).

In addition to some awesome speakers and training, we got to see the the new line thru a fashion show!  It was so fun, I mean, when else am I am going to be at a live fashion show??!

We also had the entire Chateau nightclub rented out for us, this is a portion of our fun group!  It really was such a great 3 days, I felt like a real and important adult!  

Oh yeah, I also came home with all this swag!  I have been with Stella & Dot for 3 years now and it has been such a great fit for our family, so happy I took the chance!

20 Weeks!

I am officially 1/2 way thru this pregnancy, which means we are just 20 weeks away from meeting the newest member of our family!!!  Does it get more exciting than that???  

Feeling good at 20 weeks, really can't complain.  I am sleeping good, have plenty of energy (obviously since the majority of my posts are close to midnight), and am not having any crazy symptoms/issues.  Of course I would love a cold beer (or 3) next to the pool :) and I do miss my champagne!  

We got to see baby #3 at our big ultrasound last week.  Love this image the sonographer caught!  Before we went in I was talking to Cooper about it and how funny it would be if this baby was already sucking it's thumb!  Well, guess what?  This baby put its hand in its mouth and we clearly saw it!!!  Cooper thought that was fun, other than that the kids weren't too impressed.  Laney did not like me laying on the table and Cooper seemed confused by it all...why wouldn't he be though?!  At this sonogram for each of the kids, I always go in a bit anxious.  As much as I love it, I am half holding my breath until she names all the body parts and says, "it all looks good!"  So far we have been so blessed to have healthy and happy ultrasounds and I don't take that for granted one tiny bit!

We made it very clear to the sonographer that we didn't want to know the sex and to stay away from that region.  It turns out this baby wanted to stay a surprise anyway, she said its legs were closed tightly and she would have to work really hard to find out sex.  Afterwards Adam asked her if she knew...it really kills him when the sonographer knows and he doesn't, even though he really doesn't want to know.  She said she didn't even try to see since we weren't interested and she doesn't put it in the file for the doc so it really doesn't matter.  Honestly, we had zero desire to know the sex.  The thought of knowing stresses me out...that would mean I would have to plan ahead and we all know I am not good at that!

Here I am in all my 20 week glory.  I hate that this is the first belly pic I have taken with this pregnancy!  :(  Trying something different with the chalkboard this time (thanks Maggie for the inspiration).  I haven't told my doctor about my fountain Coke craving :).  No other real cravings except for the typical...dessert.  I don't go a day without it, we are going thru a lot of ice cream in this house lately!

As for gender guess, Ad and I both think BOY.  My pregnancy is much similar to Coopers than mine with Laney.  And our families and friends are on a girl roll, we figure the trend has to thrown at some point!  Cooper is sure it's a boy and has named him Colton :).
