The Royals made a solid run in the 2014 World Series. It went to game 7 but we lost. Here's the recap from our World Series run last year.
Needless to say Cooper was even more vested in the Royals this year, in fact we all were! The playoffs were so fun to watch. The weather was beautiful so that meant most nights we were outside on the back patio watching the game with whoever happened to stop by that night.
Grandpa and Rusty came over to watch the final game the world series.
We were so excited!!!
He celebrated for about 10 minutes and then was out. It was a late night.
Then the next day I received this email and couldn't believe it! They were cancelling school for the Royals WS Chamionship parade!!!!!! I mean, we rarely get a snowy and they cancelled for a sporting event?!! So awesome!
Basically the entire city shut down-no joke. If you weren't at the parade, you were home watching. The city was like a ghost town.
Adam, Rusty, Bryson and Tara took Cooper and Gunner down for the festivities! So.much.fun and so much craziness!!!
They left early one morning, found a parking spot and mingled with hundreds of thousands of other people to find a spot. The parade started at the Sprint Center in downtown and ended at Union Station. They went to Union Station.
The estimations were that over 500,000 thousand people were there, insane!
The crowd was referred to as a sea of blue.
It was November 2nd and look at what those boys were wearing! The baseball Gods were definitely shining down on KC that day.
People were parking anywhere they could find a spot.
Not sure at what point or why they were riding in the back of the truck?!
I held down the fort with all the girls.
This is a win!
As much as I wanted to be in the midst of all the energy downtown, it was fun to be at home parked in front of the TV and see all the behind the scenes action. These were the trucks each player rode in for the parade.
I am telling you, this town had gone crazy!
This was a shot from the TV helicopter of the crowd.
I think Adam was 1 of 3 people not in Royals gear ;).
This crew was gone all day! The little boys were troopers. In the end, they weren't even close enough to hear or see the Royals players speak but they definitely experienced something special.
GO ROYALS! Baseball season is already upon us again and we don't miss a game thanks to Cooper.
