Smile Fridays - week 12

This week's Smile Friday is another shot out to my best purchase ever!, that I mentioned here.  I can manuever it wherever I am to keep Laney with me but out of trouble.  You see, this baby girl doesn't like to be left alone, she wants someone right next to her playing/reading books/talking.  The gate is a bit of an eyesore, but so are the 364 trucks and toys sprawled all over the house.
On this night, Adam was still at work and I was trying to make dinner.  I had both kids 'trapped' in living room but Cooper kept complaining about Sissy messing up his stuff.  So, I manuevered the gate in the kitchen around the island and threw some kitchen stuff in with Doodles.  Well, as soon as Coop saw that she was doing something new/different, he was all about it too!

Coop's Birthday Party

We had a fun and pretty laid back weekend celebrating Coop's 3rd birthday.  When talking to a couple friends, I have said, this is a great age for birthdays.  Cooper definitely "got it" and was excited, but he didn't expect much.  Gotta love the appreciation for little things.  On his birthday, he got to make the decisions for the day, what to eat for meals, where to go, what to play, how late to stay up (again, beauty of a 3 year old...at 9pm you can tell them they are up waaaay past bedtime :)) and he was all smiles that he didn't seem to hear the word no or not right now or another day!
He kept saying and has continued saying this week, "I am a big boy now Mom, you know that?"  Yes, Cooper, I know it all to well.
His party was a very small get together, just a couple of friends.  He requested a Spiderman party, which was perfect because Spiderman is everywhere these days.  Man, it's times like these that I really, really wish I was a more creative and "pinteresty" mom because I am pretty sure there could have been some super cute and fun decor and games.  But, let's be honest, I am not...in fact, I was at the mall ordering the cake less than 24 hours before the party.  Someday, maybe?  Instead, him and I picked out his decor from Target, I ordered pizzas and the kids just played whatever their little hearts desired.  And, my little 3 year old was pretty darn impressed with a few Spiderman items hanging up! :)

I couldn't even get 1 of them to look at me!
I just loved watching him while we sang Happy Birthday.  I think he was equal parts shy and excited.

He kept looking at me with these eyes and under his breath saying, Mom?!

Awww, a real smile, love it!
A cookie cake again this year...when you are the one in charge you get to order what you love ;).
What would we do without the Fimmen family in our lives, love them?
Coop and his friends!
Grandma and Grandpa spend the weekend celebrating with us, yay!

Excited for his party?

This boy rarely looks at the camera!  This shows his excitement about his birthday and mostly the party.

now, if i could just get him to smile normally.

Wash, MO Fair 2012

I think Adam has missed 2 of his hometown fairs in his 30 years of life and they have been because of our August born babies.  Well, no baby this year, so of course we made it!  I think I have said this before...if you have been to the Jones' house and the Wash, MO fair-you will appreciate this post.  Those of you that haven't, well enjoy the cute pics :).

ps- I have more pics on my phone but they won't show up on computer!  It's 11:40, so Adam isn't awake to help.  If I figure it out, I will update later.  Mainly they were of the little boys playing in Agriland...where we could have stayed for hours if it weren't for 100 degree temps.

Laney is thrilled it's the week of the Fair.  She just can't wait to sweat in her stroller and stay up late at concerts :).  Next year you'll love it Doodles, promise!
Again, Laney is thrilled!  We went straight from airport Thursday morning to the Fair to take a gator tour of the fairgrounds and dine on some of the infamous Fair food. :)
These cows had a lovely lunch of french fries thanks to Coop.
Cooper's favorite part?  Hands down, gator rides with Papaw!
The boys taking in Jake Owen, live in concert.  Yep, we were those parents with toddlers and babies at a loud concert way past their bedtime...never say never :).
While the girls were at Baby Zick's shower, the boys headed to the fair for a morning/lunch of fun!
 How hot do they look?
Adam texted me this pic, with the following caption, "Any car that has these 3 in it in 13 years is major trouble."  Couldn't agree more.

Baby Zick's Baby Shower

The main reason for our visit up to Wash, MO was to shower Baby Zick with lots of fun and gifts.  It was a success, Maggie and Kyle are just about set for that baby!  The sex is unknown, but my guess is girl :).
The theme was ducks-these cookies are Maggie's favorite.
 cute punch!
Maggie's mom, sister and sisters-in-laws gave Baby Zick furniture for it's room!
Momma to be, she looks pretty darn cute!
Instead of a card, we asked people to bring a book for the baby's library, love this idea!  This baby got a lot of great classic reads and some fun new ones too!  Congrats again Maggie and Kyle, we are so excited for you!

Happy 3rd Birthday Cooper William!

As of today, our Cooper William is 3 years old and we just can't believe it!  I mean, really, where does the time go??  I feel like time is on fast forward!  We are so proud of the little boy he is growing up to be.
Cooper is...
-still an amazing sleeper.  goes to bed around 8:30ish (would stay up much later if he could), wakes up around 8ish and then is back down for a nap at 1:00 for a solid 2 hours.  he never misses a nap and occasionally takes himself to bed :).
-loves to read books, play any kind of ball/sport, play trucks and working guys, ride bikes and fight bad guys.
-favorite toys are definitely all his trucks and working guys!
-favorite places to go are Chick-Fil-A, the library, pool, and playdates with friends.
-a pretty good eater-his faves are baked potatoes, brocolli, french fries, chicken nuggets, black beans.  ultimate favorite is PB&J, eats at least one everyday!  not really a snacker-usually only if i ask.
-spending plenty of time in "bedroom time," aka timeout, mainly for not picking up toys or just not listening!  definitely tests my patience everyday with his toddler ways and i think i have a high patience tolerance :).
-so, so sweet to his baby sister!

We had a fun little birthday party this weekend that I will post about soon, but for now, here is our 3 year old!

Hand in his pocket, just like Justin Bieber :).  And yes, that is a Spiderman tatoo on his arm.
I think he is looking more like his Dad everyday!

Aunt Maggie and Uncle Kyle have a pool!

And a house too :).  But, the kids are way more excited about the pool!

As you probably could all guess, Coop did not go off the diving board :).
What an incredible background, huh?  I guess the foreground is pretty darn cute too!

Who knows what these 3 were discussing?
