10 Year Anniversary Trip!

Well, we celebrated a few months early because a trip to the beach in February sounded much more appealing than a trip to the beach in June ;).  We have talked since before our 9 year anniversary that we wanted to take a trip for our 10 year and had big, big ideas in our mind.  Then you realize you have 3 little kids and a two week trip to Europe or Australia or the Maldives isn't as realistic as you want it to be ;).  And that's ok!  We couldn't decide where to go and my aunt Trish recommended her travel agent which was brilliant!!  Instead of me staying up until wee hours of the morning researching places, it was in the hands of a professional.  We told her our budget, that we would love a beach for a 4-5 day trip and we wanted to go in the next 2-3 weeks...we decided we needed out of the snow ASAP!  Within a couple days we had a trip booked to The Royal resort in Playa del Carmen, leaving in 2 weeks.  Again, Adam's traveling came in handy as we booked our flights using points -wootwoot!!!
My mom and dad were keeping the kids most of the time we were gone and Mamaw Jones came in on Friday to keep them for the weekend.  We are so blessed with parents that happily take on our crew for days at a time...they are a busy bunch!  We were so so excited on the plane ride - couldn't wait for sunshine, drinks and a beach!
 Resort was beautiful!

Work was never too far away.
I have a weak stomach and probably not a good idea for me to eat really healthy 2 weeks before and then go to Mexico (nothing healthy!).  Our first full day we headed to a pharmacy for some Prilosec, my stomach wasn't agreeing with much.
Each afternoon the pool boys/girls circled around on their cart with sno-cones, ice cream, etc.  Our pool was fun...there were always games, music, activities.
Loved getting pics from back home :).
We have our arms around each other like we just met, lol.

Unfortunately that Prilosec didn't quite cut it.  I am not sure what I had...a stomach virus or Mexico bug but it got a bit worse everyday.  I was able to hit up the pool most of the day and go to dinner each night but after that I was toast.  It was back to bed for me.  Thankfully we made friends at the pool so Adam was able to hang out with them at the bar at night.
Every night at 9:45 there was a show in the lobby...unfortunately, I was always in bed by that time and never saw a show.  Adam said it was pretty incredible and brought a packed house.

Water aerobics every morning - but not for me-instead I read books.  I read two of Liane Moriarty's books...What Alice Forgot and My Husband's Secret.  I couldn't recommend them more, so good!!
This is basically what I lived on.  I haven't really drank Coke since last summer but it was all that sounded good-could barely drink water.  That being said, all the restaurants at the resort were excellent-we didn't even make it to a couple of them.
I had plans to walk the beach every morning but being sick kept that from happening. I was good to make it out the pool before 10am.  We took one walk on the beach from lunch back to the pool.  The beach was beautiful but we hung out by the pool instead...closer to the bar ;).
I mentioned that there were always fun games poolside.  Our last full day there we had seats up front...only because Adam got up at 6am to go save them!  Well, one of the pool boys (I am sure they have a much more sophisticated title than that!) pulled Adam up to participate.
It was a timed competition.  They had to do 5 pushups, swim across the pool-hop out and do 3 fitness poses, swim to the other side of the pool and dive for rings, then swim back to beginning.
The finishing kicker was a shot of Tequila.
Did he win??  Of course he did!
And he got this awesome t-shirt...not so awesome.  We were hoping for dinner on the beach...not so much.
We had to watch this game on our phones, blah.
One last night out and the only time I fixed my hair the whole trip...gotta love vacation.
Nothing like a cat at your feet during dinner!
We loved our location-our resort walked right out onto 5th avenue.  Their main downtown area filled with restaurants, shops and a random Mexican that tried to sell us drugs...no thanks.
Despite feeling like crap- I did my best to make the most of the vacation.  It was pretty perfect - lots of sleep and sunshine and reading and catching up with Adam uninterrupted.  10 years has been really good to us!

We've got a walker!!!

I LOVE babies!  I want a profession that pays a lot to hold newborn babies and kiss their feet all day. That being said...when my babies turn 1, I am ready for them to start walking.  The crawling all over outside and public places grosses me out.  Like a typical first born, Cooper walked the week of his first birthday.  Then Laney waited until 16 months to start walking.  So, we weren't sure where Piper was going to fall on that scale.
She was taking a few steps here and there the end of January/beginning of February but didn't officially take off until Valentine's Day weekend at 14 months.  In fact, she started really walking the Wednesday before during Laney's dance class.
She is still pretty wobbly and entertaining to watch.  A couple weeks ago on a beautiful morning,  the kids were at school so her and I took Lola on a walk.  She was so happy!!

She was so so happy!

Ordinary Days

Here are some sweet moments from ordinary days around here...
This girl loves her babies - morning, noon and night.
And for the record, the big kids dress themselves 90% of the time...just not a battle I am willing to fight.
Piper has been eating apples whole for a while but recently this is what she does.  She takes bites out of the apple, scrapes the inside off with her teeth and leaves tiny pieces of peels all over.  She's easy to track when she's eating an apple ;).
These two play so well together when they aren't fighting ;).  They often play house and it is so entertaining to hear their commentary with one another.
They had to stop for a break because "being a mom and dad is hard work."
Pippi had a rough few days of being congested and not napping well.  This day her and Laney totally snuggled up with me on the couch for almost a half hour!!!
Coop's class had a dentist visit!
Mamaw and Papaw Jones got the kids a Chick-Fil-A gift card for Valentine's Day so one night I took the big kids out for a dinner date.
That's Baby Weezie, Kisses and Hugs.
One of my best friends is having her first baby and I just couldn't be happier for her!  We got to celebrate that sweet baby girl (due next month!) at a shower.  And I am rocking a super casual look for 2 reasons...there was a snowstorm and I went straight from the shower to the KU/Texas ball game with Adam and the Stauffers.
Uncle Bill! Uncle Bill!  Adam and I talked about if we could switch lives with one person who it would be and I chose Bill Self...duh.  Adam thought I was crazy but he had no brilliant option for himself...he would probably want to be one of my assistant coaches ;).
People, this is a crazy stat!  I mean a ridiculously crazy stat!  And, that is now 11 Big 12 Championships - ROCK CHALK!!!!!!!!!!!!
The next day Pippi hit a low from her week of congestion and just not being her cheery self.  So after  napping on me for the afternoon we headed to the urgent care.
The doctor diagnosed her with not only a double ear infection but a terrible one.  Poor Pippi ;(.
I got this mini Tupperware set for Christmas for the kids and forgot about it until recently.  They, specifically, Laney have been loving it.
I love when I find selfies on my phone like this one.  Poor Pippi wasn't feeling well still :(.

Fun with Cousins!

A few different days all the same theme - good times with cousins!
Laney went to Gunner's house to play one Friday afternoon/evening.  Lucky kids!  Aunt Tara took them out in the snow!  Grandpa stopped by on his way home from work and built a snowman with them.
He got in a workout pulling those two around in the snow.

 I can't help but fast forward 15 years...yikes!
Coop had Cash over while Laney was gone.  This is the only picture I have of these 2 crazy boys-they played basketball and wrestled like crazy in the bounce house.
On a beautiful Saturday we headed to one of our favorite places, Allen Fieldhouse.
For Braeden's Christmas and birthday gifts, we got him a ticket to go to the KU-TCU game with us.
Cooper totally looks up to him and soaks up all the attention.  Braeden is so good to him-they chatted and played Madden football on B's phone on the way to the game.

We had so much fun cheering our Hawks on to a victory!!!
As we were walking out, we walked right into our cousin Brody-who is in school at KU right now.  Cooper looks like he is standing next to one of the basketball players!
Cooper peeing in the Phi Delt (Adam's fraternity) parking lot...I am pretty sure his Dad did the same a few times back in the day.
Aunt Alli kept the girls so they had just as much fun as we did.
 She learned cheerleading stunts;).
