Road Trip to Wash, MO

We were in our house for just a couple weeks when we packed up and headed to Wash, MO.  We went back for a few reasons…we celebrated Papaw, Kellen and Brynn's birthdays, GiGi Hillermann hadn't met Piper yet (the lady behind the Marie in Piper's name!), either had the McCormacks, and Adam had some work to do there as well.
We went out to dinner to celebrate Papaw's birthday.  The boys did some late night celebrating with him and paid for it the next day ;).
Sweet Emily adores Piper…until she pukes or poops ;).
While all the little kids napped, I snuck Emily away for pedicures!
She was bored so Adam led her thru bootcamp.
Oh these two!  When they disappear, we know it's trouble!
Love this collage from Brynn's birthday party and cake eating :).  Thanks Maggie.

These 2 boys play pretend for hours upon hours.  They can't stand to be separated when we are visiting.
Brynn had lots of help opening her gifts.
 Totally in control.
Cooper trying to wave them down for a ride ;).
 The boys caught a ride!
Four generations - same pic here with Laney.  The girls are even wearing the same bow!

We were around on Monday since Adam had to work.  Maggie took the day off of work and the weather was beautiful so we decided to hit up the zoo!  The day didn't go as exactly as planned.
Besides needing to eat, Piper was such a good baby!
We didn't see many animals before the kids started melting down but the gorillas were quite entertaining!
These 2 big boys walked and after about an hour, they were over it.  All their weekend fun had caught up with them.  See the sweet girls in the double stroller ;).
Meltdowns in full effect.  Everyone was tired and hungry…despite having snacks 20 minutes before.
Thought she was going to fall asleep in the stroller.
 Sad Hadley.
And then to top off the visit…Laney had to pee right when we got to the car.  Of course.  I knew she was capable of squatting, her Dad taught her ;).  Well, she was in her skinny jeans and the minute I pulled them down, the girl just started peeing.  I didn't know what to do-so I let her go.  And she peed about a gallon.  Thankfully Maggie had a diaper and pajama pants of Hadley for her to slip into for the hour drive home.

A stop at Steak'n'Shake and back to Mamaw and Papaws for naps.  That evening we headed back home to OP.

The Zicks Visit!

Travel back with me to the end of February…we had been in our home just over a week when the Zicks came to visit.  We were happy to have them here and of course we put them to work ;).  We spent the weekend eating, feeding kids, hanging with the other KC Jones' crew and getting a bit more settled.
This sweet girl was the main reason for their visit, they hadn't met Piper Marie yet!
The kids were in their jammies most of the weekend.  It was so, so cold and snowy!
These 2 superheroes cleaned up the playroom for me, they did an awesome job!
Lunching Ladies…I told they were in their jammies all weekend!
Adam is slowly getting Hadley to like him ;).

I can't believe these are the only pics I have (and they are mostly Maggies!) from the weekend.  Thanks Zicks for coming to visit and helping out!  We promise a more exciting weekend next time :).

Thumb Sucker #2?

We might just have another thumb sucker on our hands…
She was just a few days old here and already working on that thumb.
This was just last month, she is getting better at it :)
The evenings of her first month of life she was often in the Baby Bjorn.  We hadn't figured out her reflux at this point and she wanted to be held full time.  Pretty sure at this point I was praying for her to suck her thumb, poor girl needed something to soothe her and she wouldn't (and still really doesn't) take a pacifier.  Why can't I have a pacifier baby!???!!
I have such a soft spot for a thumb sucking baby after Cooper.  Now that I know I can break a kid of it (or at least I have success with one), I wouldn't mind one bit if she sucked her thumb.  Only time will tell…

As I type this, she is in the swing next to me snoozing and sucking her thumb :).

Piper the Patient

Cooper and Laney love to play Doctor and their favorite patient is Piper.

I am often reminding Laney to not put the thermometer in Piper's mouth and just pretend.

Big Girl Bed!

Last Fall, Adam and I were talking about Laney and knew we wanted/needed to tackle one of two things before the baby arrived.  It was either potty training or big girl bed.  We went with big girl bed and then all of sudden she started potty training herself!  So we shifted gears and went all in with potty training.  It was so much easier than we anticipated and she is still doing awesome.
Then in November when we found out we would be moving, we decided to put the big girl bed on hold until the new house.  Nothing like wrapping up a couple big changes (new house, new bed) in a big red bow for our sweet girl!

So the first day she was in our house, this is where she napped!  And she did awesome!  Her and Coop  slept on our floor for the first few nights.
She was excited about her bed-no special sheets yet or even furniture in her room!  She literally had her bed and a rubbermaid container.
Sunday naps.  Almost every time we lay her down for nap or bed, she says, "lay with me."
And then about a week later, the honeymoon period of her sleeping in her big girl bed was over.  Almost every single day about 5 minutes after I put her to bed, she sneaks out of her room and runs across the hall to Cooper's room.  I hear the door shut and then lock.  They giggle, chat and play until I break it up.  I want to be mad but they are so stinkin' cute and think they are so sneaky and hilarious that it's all I can do not to laugh with them.
And then she often tries it again one.more.time.  Seriously the girl is running my patience ragged at nap time.  Cooper totally spoiled me!  That boy always (and most days still does) just went upstairs, laid down and didn't get up for at least a couple hours.  This girl of mine usually takes an hour to finally fall asleep and has mastered every stall tactic in the book.

Our New Home!

We drove up to Kansas on Wednesday and closed/moved into our new home on Thursday!  This is the 5th house Adam and I have lived in together, hard to believe!!!
No pictures of the outside of the house but many of the inside.  I want this place documented how it looks sort of empty and clean ;).

The toy room before the kids and toys arrived.
This is the view when you walk in from the garage.
This is where we will spend most of our time.
Piper's swing was one of the first things up!  Our backyard was still a muddy/icy mess.
 Our bedroom
 Laney's room
 Piper's room
 Cooper's room
Reunited with all her books!  No idea why this basket of books was in the bathroom??
The toy room after the toys and kids arrived ;)…this is like 1/4 of the mess.
My sweet Dad had Welcome Home flowers sent…that I gave all the credit to my mom for, sorry Dad!
It snowed on move in day, boo!!!!!!
2nd Day, starting to come together and thankfully all our furniture fit perfectly!
She's out of a crib!!!!  The kids napped on the floors of their rooms for the first few days and slept on our floor at night.
See the kids makeshift beds on our floor?    Total chaos.
Yes the kids were sleeping on our floor and our house was utter chaos but 48 hours after moving in, we were here.  My happy place.  It was so great to escape the house stuff to hang out with The Stauffers and watch our Hawks!
